Can’t wait to photograph these two in Jamaica this January!

In 2014, a friend of mine (and now the Men’s director of the Forge) shared with me brief insight into what God was doing, through the Forge program, to transform his life. Fast forward two years later and I was getting lunch with two girls named Mackenzie (pictured below) and Tabitha (whose wedding I also photographed.) They were on a recruiting trip with my friend, Colton and were telling me all the reasons I should apply for the Forge. These girls quickly loved me as their friend and encouraged me throughout the process. Then, Mackenzie essentially became my roommate in dallas opening her home to me anytime I needed a place to stay when I would come back to the city, during my time in the Forge.
Mackenzie is loyal and she is FUN! She cares deeply for people and she is honest. I loved getting to finally meet Connor during their shoot and I cannot wait for their wedding next March. I’m so thankful for your friendship and so excited for all God has for you in marriage, Mackenzie.
February can be an unpredictable time of year in Texas for a wedding. Avery and Hunter’s was absolutely beautiful and so much fun and also was one of the windiest wedding days I have every experienced. It’s in moments like the first look when, as a photographer, you find yourself especially thankful for rooms with extra natural light and large back porches.
I’ve had the honor of knowing Avery since her freshman year of college, when she befriended the residents on my hall and spent many hours there. I love getting to think about those years and how much has changed in time. It was such an honor to capture her marry the love of her life. This couple is unbelievably kind and it was so evident that they adore one another and our so supported by their family and friends. I’m so thankful for weddings like this.

I had the honor of photographing these high school sweethearts, Aaron + Sarah, say “I do” at Balmorhea Wedding Venue in Magnolia, TX in February. In 2017, after I completed the Forge, I worked at Pine Cove camps in Columbus, TX at their middle school and high school camp. This is where I got to work alongside both Aaron and Sarah. Aaron or “French Fly” as we called him is one of the funniest and outgoing people I have ever met. These two have dated for years and I truly am such a fan of them. Sarah is kind and gracious and sweet and it’s so evident that Aaron adores her. Both their families were incredible and the ceremony was so beautiful. Two of their friends sang “How Deep the Father’s Love for Us” while Sarah + Aaron shared communion. If you know me well, you know this is one of my all time favorites, not to mention their friends were insanely talented.
This morning started off with some showers so I was a bit nervous, but the skies cleared just in time for photos, which is always a blessing! This gorgeous ceremony space was back lit which can make clear, light images really tricky, so I had fun playing with some darker shadows and using the direct light to create more artistic shots. I hope you love the photos!
Unforgettable Floral of College Station knocked the florals out of the park. This photo is still my screensaver, almost three weeks later. One of my favorite parts about their wedding, besides a beautiful ceremony, was when “We lift your hands in the sanctuary” came on during the reception and everyone was singing along. It was incredible. Aaron is in flight school and so for there send off they had small airplanes and I thought this was a unique and personal touch to this day. (I’m always encouraging couples to do little things that make their day special to them.)
I had convinced myself that in twenty eighteen I “probably wouldn’t photograph very much.” But I was wrong and I am glad. When really incredible people invite me into their lives to photograph their wedding, it’s hard to say no. I am so excited for 2019 and as I look back at twenty eighteen, I am just so unbelievably grateful to these couples for choosing me to be beside them on their wedding day!
I had a fun mini session just in time for the holiday’s with Lindsey and her precious family! How cute is Tucker?!
Linds is the designer behind LAW designs, so the shoot doubled as a product shoot in celebration of her 4th year in business! Head over to her instagram to see her fun earrings and more photos! (They make great gifts too!)
These images were taken at the Lumen Room studio in Dallas, TX.
